Global chemical company Basp has launched the new Engineering Plastic Ultrason (Ultrason) E0510 C2TR, suitable for automotive parts that require high-temperature oil and contact.

Ultrasone E0510 C2TR, a polyethersulfone (PESU) material, has excellent frictional properties, oil resistance, and dimensional stability and can withstand a wide range of temperatures.

New ultrason materials with 10% carbon fiber reinforced by injection molding products can be used at temperatures from minus 30 degrees to 180 degrees. Moreover, the mobility favorable for the injection process is had to the low viscosity.

Ultrason E0510 C2TR can be used in the production of various automotive parts that come into contact with oil, such as oil pumps, oil pistons, pressure valves, gearboxes, transmissions, and can also be applied to new applications such as alternative energy technologies.

The new material can be manufactured by injection molding without loss of physical properties such as stability, durability, chemical resistance based on high mobility. Moreover, the low thermal expansion rate of 10.4 [10-6/K] is equipped and the dimensional stability of the part is guaranteed and the sudden change of temperature can be endured. In addition, the ASTM G137 experiment of the American Materials and Testing Association proved superior friction and abrasion characteristics compared to other high functional thermoplastic materials, and proved mechanical stability and excellent chemical resistance even with high wear rate.

The new materials combine all of the existing characteristics of already proven ultrasons such as excellent chemical resistance, flame retardantness, strength, temperature stability and hydrolysis with customized characteristics and are currently sold worldwide.

Ultrasone is a brand of BASF that refers to specialty polymer materials such as polyethersulfone (PESU), polysulfone (PSU), and polyphenylsulfone (PPSU). It is classified into Ultrasone E, Ultrasone S and Ultrasone P products.

Ultrasone, a high-performance material, is used not only for the production of lightweight parts in the electronics, automobiles and aviation industries, but also for water treatment filters, hot water and food contact. In addition, thanks to the excellence of the material, ultrasone can replace metal, ceramics, and thermosets.
